Winning a Master Builders Association Award in 2002, this centre includes a police station and courthouse, linked by a shared custodial area, as well as state-of-the-art security and communications systems. The contemporary design cleverly reflects the character of this popular seaside tourist town while maintaining the civic status deserving of such an important community facility. The courtrooms, in particular, have been highly commended by the judiciary and their innovative design is now being used as a model for future courts in WA.
